What is Neem Oil? Neem oil is extracted from the seeds of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica), a native species in South Asia and Southeast Asia. In India, neem has been highly valued and widely used for centuries. This oil is rich in valuable active compounds and has excellent moisturizing, nourishing, and caring properties. Today, neem oil is widely used both in cosmetics for skin and hair care and in gardening as a natural plant vitality enhancer and foliage conditioner.
Since the oil is very concentrated and has a distinctive, strong scent, it should be diluted before use. The natural neem aroma is not a problem, as it practically disappears once the oil dries.
Our Neem Oil Quality The neem oil we offer is 100% natural, unrefined, and cold-pressed. This means it is mechanically extracted without using high temperatures or chemical solvents. This process preserves all the oil’s valuable substances. What is its consistency? At cold temperatures (below ~20°C), the oil naturally thickens and can become solid, similar to a paste. In warmth, it quickly returns to a liquid form. This is a normal and desirable characteristic that confirms the product’s naturalness and high quality.
What is Neem Oil Used For?
-
In the Garden and for Houseplants (Plant Care): Neem oil is an excellent natural leaf conditioner and plant strengthener. It forms a breathable, protective layer on leaves, giving them a natural shine and helping the plant retain moisture. It can also be used as a natural fertilizer that enriches the soil with beneficial nutrients, improving the overall quality and vitality of plants.
-
For Skin, Hair, and Nail Care: Neem oil contains many fatty acids, vitamin E, and amino acids. It helps restore the skin’s moisture balance, elasticity, and promotes regeneration. It is especially recommended for problematic, dry, or irritated skin, as it helps reduce redness and improve appearance. Pure neem oil is recommended to be applied in a very thin layer on damp skin or mixed into other carrier oils or creams.
-
For Hair Improvement: It moisturizes and nourishes hair, improves scalp condition, and helps maintain healthy and strong hair.
-
Anti-Aging Effect: Natural antioxidants help protect the skin from environmental stress factors.
How to Properly Prepare and Use Neem Oil for Plants?
Pure neem oil does not dissolve in water. To create an effective spray mixture for plant foliage care and cleansing, an emulsifier (such as liquid soap) is needed.
Basic Recipe for Leaf Conditioner (about 500-750 ml mixture):
-
1 teaspoon (about 5 ml) of mild liquid soap.
-
1-2 teaspoons (about 5-10 ml) of neem oil.
-
500-750 ml of warm (not hot) water.
Preparation Steps:
-
In a small container, first thoroughly mix the neem oil with the soap. The mixture should become uniform and milky.
-
Pour this emulsion into a spray bottle filled with warm water.
-
Shake the bottle well to mix everything evenly.
-
Use the mixture immediately (within a few hours), as it may separate and lose its beneficial properties.
How to Use the Mixture on Plants:
-
For regular care and leaf cleansing: 1-2 times a month or more often if plants need more intensive renewal.
-
Spray the entire plant – leaves on both sides (especially the underside) and the stem. The remaining mixture can be poured into the soil as additional fertilizer.
Important to Note:
-
Spray in the evening: Do not treat plants in direct sunlight. The oil can act like a lens in the sun and cause leaf burns.
-
Perform a test: Before treating the entire plant, always test the mixture on one or two leaves and wait 24 hours to ensure the plant is not overly sensitive.
Other Uses:
-
House Cleaning: Can be added to water with a small amount of soap to create a natural surface cleaner.
-
Fertilizer for watering: Recommended dose is 1-2 teaspoons of emulsion (oil + soap) per liter of water.
-
Hair Care: Add a few drops to your daily conditioner or shampoo.
